Chriz. asked:

I have had my ear pierced inmy cartilage (top of the ear) for around 6-7 weeks now, and although it seems to have fully healed, there is still some swelling. When i take the ear ring out, and feel around where the piercing is it feels swoeln on either side compared to the other ear which has not been pierced, will this go away? Any advice please?

Piercing Advice:‎

Before I tell you the steps, I want to warn you that you might not be able to use in-ear headphones in the ear that ‎you pierce, because the piercing can get in the way. I usually just wear one headphone in the ear without the ‎piercing, or over the ear headphones.

So I ordered professional piercing supplies, which you can get online at www.painfulpleasures.com or ‎www.monstersteel.com

I recommend:

‎–20 g (gauge) 2 inch sterilized hollow piercing needles (to pierce with, for any other piercings I would use 18 or 16 ‎gauge):

‎-Individual:

‎-Pack of 100: http://www.painfulpleasures.com/xcart/customer/product.php?productid=1753&cat=136&page=1

‎–Piercing forceps (optional - to clamp down the area for a nice steady piercing):

‎–Ear stud or ring (I used a gold stud from Claire’s, but I found this cute nose stud that you can use too):

‎-Stud:

For a belly ring I would recommend a 16g needle and 16g jewelry piece.

If you decide not to do the piercings yourself, you should definitely go to a tatto place, NOT a place in ‎the mall like Claire’s or Piercing Pagoda. It is very important that you have it done with a needle, and NOT ‎a gun. Piercing guns are dangerous, they hurt a lot more (needles hurt very little or not at all), and ‎piercers at tatto places have A LOT more experience than the ones at the mall.

Also BE SURE to clean the piercing twice a day with non-scented soap and water, and then with salt ‎water, or else it will get infected.

Oh, and also for the jewelry you should ONLY use surgical stainless steel or gold.

Haha hope that helps, if you have any more questions message me.
Peace!

WhiteStripes1424 asked:

I just had my ear love pierced like a week ago and I don’t like the earring stud because it’s too small, and I have another piercing thats a bit bigger… I want to change it to the new one, but can I?
Umm ok I just changed it and no blood came out, there was no blood when I got my ear pierced last week either :).

And no I had the piercing stud with me already so the hole cant close back soo fast

I was just scared that it might cause an infection..
I soaked the new piercing in rubbing alcohol

How much does getting an industrial ear piercing hurt?
Question Details:Ok, for those who do not know, an industrial piercing is two cartilage piercings.

I really want to get one but I am affraid of the pain.

Some people have told me it huts REALLY bad but others say it is over quickly. I am not worried about the pain afterwards, only while it is being done.

Can anyone help, please?

If a person has sensitive ears, is it ok to get an industrial ear piercing?

Saturday, October 11th, 2008
Dead_Red_L0ve asked:

Its been 3 months now since I heard of an industrial ear piercing, and I’ve been dying to get one since but my ears are sensitive to certain types of jewelry so I have to wear sterling silver or the real stuff (gold, silver, etc.). So with that in mind, would the risk of infection be higher for me if I was to get it? Or the same as any other person as long as I take care of it? Are there any other risks that go with this piercing that I should be aware of before I get it?

Why does my cartilage ear piercing have a bump on the back of the hole?

Saturday, October 4th, 2008
Kat asked:

I just recently got 3 cartilage ear piercings last month. Now I took them off to see how the healing is doing but there is a bump on each one on the back. Why is that?

I also have another cartilage piercing from 2 years ago and I also have a bump on the back of the whole as well and it’s still there. Why is this? Will it ever go away?
