Can you space a horizontal ear piercing?
I currently do not have my ear-lobe pierced at all, and I am looking to get a horizontal piercing. My question for you is, is it possible to space this (horizontal lobe) ?
Any suggestions / tips / experiences would be much appreciated.

Basically what I mean by spacing is the same as spacing the regular lobe, changing the “guage” to a larger one I suppose, I’m looking to go to 0 or 00
Essentially this would end up looking somewhat of having “tubes” through my ears horizontally!

I get confused when people make such a big deal about ear piercing. I’ve had my ears pierced since i was a baby, and so had my friends and cousins and every girl I know. So I was just wondering why people make such a big deal about it, especially in movies.
Yeah i have one only in each ear , no peircings anywhere else!

Is it dangerous to get a second ear piercing?

Hi
I have had the standard ear piercing for about 6 years with no problems or infections. I was thinking about getting another piercing in my ear lobe right next to my other piercing so I could wear 2 earrings at once. Is this safe? I don’t want to do something that will cause an infection. I wanted to have it done at Wal-mart like last time as it’s free with an earring purchase. Thanks!

Second hole ear piercing too close to the first - should I get it repierced?

I just got my second hole ear piercing today, and the one on the right is slightly closer to the first hole than the left one. Not really noticeably, but I can tell. Should I take out the second hole piercings and let it heal over? After it healed, would I be able to get it done again? I’m really annoyed!

Is my new ear piercing infected or is it normal?

I recently got my ears pierced at claire’s (my first piercing) and it was fine on the first day, a few days ago. I don’t know if my ear piercing is infected or not, or if it is just normal…my left lobe feels ‘fatter’ or ‘thicker’, i think it’s swollen, and both of my lobes hurt when i touch my piercings. The left lobe hurts more, and sometimes it feels a bit itchy. Is this normal? or is it infected?
What are some specific symptoms of an infected ear piercing?
Should i go see a doctor? Or should i wait a bit longer and see what happens?
=(

thanks!
thanks guys for all your help =)
i’ll try to put on neosporin for now to see if it gets better..if not then i’ll go to claires
thanks again ^^

Earrings for Men

Monday, June 2nd, 2008
Robert asked:

Men’s earrings became widely acceptable as a fashion statement during the late 80s and early 90s. They were catapulted into fame by celebrities like George Michael and Harrison Ford who were known for using them. At present, men’s earrings are still a popular form of jewelry, but they have either slipped into subtlety (when worn by socialites) to blatant displays of individuality when they are worn by grunge and rock stylists. Below, are some earring styles that are commonly seen nowadays.

Studs

Studs are perfect for any occasion. They can be made of a solid diamond or it can be a stud of precious metal or semi-precious stone. No matter the style, studs are still considered to be a great choice for men’s earrings. Because they are so versatile, a single 30 carat diamond stud can both be worn on the red carpet and also in the club scene. Perhaps, something a little smaller and less flashy would be appropriate if you want to wear it to the office.

Hoops

Hoops were the original choice when it came to earrings for men. They can either be worn on one ear alone or on both – depending on the style and taste of the wearer. In the 90s some regions in Europe have even established a code, by which a person can pinpoint your sexual orientation by the number of earrings you are wearing and where you are wearing them. Today, jewelers often make men’s hoop earrings in pairs, so, if you don’t want to wear two at once, you can either keep one as back-up or you can split it with a friend.

Clip-On

When actor Jamie Fox went to Oscars, he was sporting a diamond stud clip on earring. The one he was wearing was very descriptive of the modern style of men’s earrings. The make was so impressive that it wasn’t immediately obvious that he was wearing a clip on because the link between the front and the back clasp was so minimal, that it nearly passed unnoticed. That just shows how much jewelers have improved over the years. Clip-on earrings used to be reserved for women because they were often big in order to accommodate the size of the clasp in the back. Now, they are much more stylish and as demonstrated – have been perfected for use by both genders.

Ear Cuffs and Flesh Tunnels

If you like to appeal to the eccentric in you, why not go for more ethnic and tribal looking earrings. You can avail of beautifully carved ear cuffs or flesh tunnels (if you dare). For some people, they would prefer the quick fix offered by the ear cuff. These intricate semi-tubes attach to the cartilage portion of the ear without piercing through the tissue. This is definitely the perfect accessory as it is as easy to remove as it is to put on. However, if you really want to stand out – you can always try multiple ear piercings or even a flesh tunnel. With the flesh tunnel, you can see how far you can widen that hole in your earlobe.

Does getting your ear pierced with a needle hurt more than getting it done with a piercing gun?

Sunday, June 1st, 2008
Matt J asked:

I keep hearing that getting your ear pierced by a professional with a needle is better than getting in done with a piercing gun at, say, Piercing Pagoda. But I’ve seen videos of people getting their ears pierced with both techniques. It seems like it hurts less with a piercing gun than it does with a needle.

What do you think? I’ve never had my ears pierced, although I want to have them pierced eventually.
